Fuck, it’s been a while. Hope you’re still with us after the drought. Let’s talk.
1.) I’ve been absent over the last two months attending to personal matters. Most of my readers actually know what those are, but if you’re not in the know you don’t need to be. Doc has been busy and if he wants to add a bit to this explaining what he’s been up to he can but needless to say, summer has not been kind to us.
2.) So far on Man-Child Messiah we’ve done little outside of calling content producers out on their bullshit, which is fine as its both fun and part of the intended mission of the site. That said I always wanted to use MCM as a means to showcase content I feel is worthwhile, especially if that content is sorely under appreciated, so expect some positive pieces in the coming weeks in addition to the usual negative ones.
3.) We’ve focused a lot on the Internet reviewer community, particularly TGWTG/Channel Awesome, and I feel like it’s time to branch out. Not so much move on, because I feel like there are some interesting things to be gleaned from this particular microcosm of the Web 2.0, but a lot of people really seem to have a hard time grasping how little of a fuck most people actually give about these people. They’re a very small, loud fish in a very, very large pond, and to continue to talk about them almost exclusively would be to the detriment of what I originally hoped to do with Man-Child Messiah. There is a whole big Internet out there to hate and I feel like hating on TGWTG and the like would be a lot more interesting once we start holding their content up to the rest of what’s out there.
